Nubian
Moon Daughters Temple Dancers of the Nile
was founded in the year of the new millennium
under the direction of Halima Gadzira Arianna
al Tiye, however we have existed since the dawn
of time. Invoked by the spirit of our ancestral
Mother Goddesses Ast/Isis, Rennenutet, Yemaya,
Oshun, Oya, Estsanatlehi, Igaehinvdo, Kali, Durga,
Parvati, Sarasvasti, Lakshmi, Luna, just to name
a few, we are here to preserve the ancient art
of the Temple Dances of the Womb. Ours is a dance
in celebration of our Goddess consciousness, sensual
awareness, female rites of passage, sacred healing
and spiritual divinity.
While our choreography contains some fusion of
styles from North and Central Africa, South America,
and Asia, Nubian Moon Daughters
is a Khemetic dance troupe committed to focusing
on and advancing the folkloric dance traditions
of East and North Africa, particularly the dances
of ancient Egypt and/or Nubia. |

We
are summoned to respond to the call of those who
seek a greater understanding and a deeper spiritual
connection with the ancient Goddesses of Nubia
through the language of dance. We pay homage to
and aspire to preserve the ancient dance cultures
of various tribes in the North, East, Sub-Saharan
regions of the Afrikan diaspora. Our quest leads
us to bridge the gab and interweave the dance
other cultures on a global scale, forming a tapestry
of world-ethno oriental and folkloric
dance.
We, the daughters of the Nubian moon, are the
spirits that flow through the Nile river and into
the beat of every ancestral drum. Tu-a Ntr,
Ashe. |
